Gerri’s Place Secures Funding from the Ken Hughes Foundation

Gerri’s Place Secures Transformational Funding from the Ken Hughes Foundation to Provide additional Well-Being Breaks in 2024

Gerri’s Place, a new charity dedicated to offering essential well-being breaks to people who need time and space to focus on their emotional and mental well-being, is thrilled to announce the receipt of significant funding from the Ken Hughes Foundation.

Gerri’s Place offers weekend breaks that provide access to a range of therapeutic services for those experiencing mild depression, anxiety, grief, stress, or burnout. Our programmes introduce a variety of wellness tools designed to help participants rest, reset, and embark on their own personalised path to wellness. These techniques are intended to be integrated into everyday life, empowering individuals to continue their journey toward better mental well-being long after their stay.

Rebecca Sheridan, CEO and Founder of Gerri’s Place, emphasizes the critical importance of this funding to the organisation. “This generous support marks a significant milestone in our journey and offers a transformative opportunity for the individuals we strive to assist. The funding from the Ken Hughes Foundation will enable Gerri’s Place to extend our unique well-being breaks to more people."

Gerri’s Place breaks are designed to offer people who may not ordinarily be able to access one, respite, rejuvenation, and a much-needed pause from the stresses of everyday life, particularly for those facing challenging circumstances.

Ken Hughes, reflecting on his decision to support Gerri’s Place, stated, "We believe in the mission of Gerri’s Place and the meaningful impact it has on the lives of those in need of support. The work they do aligns perfectly with our foundation's goals of fostering community health and well-being."

"Our mission at Gerri’s Place has always been to provide an affordable sanctuary for individuals who need time to recharge, reconnect, and find their way forward," said Rebecca Sheridan. "The support from the Ken Hughes Foundation goes beyond financial assistance; it is a vote of confidence in the work we do and the lives we touch. This funding will enable us to increase the availability of our breaks throughout the year in more communities."

Gerri’s Place is on a mission to change how mental health and well-being is viewed in Ireland and aims to bring their services to more and more communities.

Gerri’s Place is committed to changing the conversation around mental health and well-being in Ireland, aiming to bring their services to a broader range of communities. By providing access to affordable well-being breaks, Gerri’s Place supports the mental, emotional, and physical health of those who need it most. “With this new funding, we are excited to build on our success and look forward to continuing to serve our community in even more impactful ways.” said Rebecca.
